Motorcycle Tires Cracks On Side I Put Extra Virgin Olive Oil On The Sides Of My Motorcycle Tires. Did I Damage Them?

I put Extra Virgin Olive oil on the sides of my motorcycle tires. Did I damage them? - motorcycle tires cracks on side

It seemed a good idea at the time. I do not know what he thought. I wanted it as black and shiny, and I thought the rubber, he was "thirsty" ... Anyway, now I know it was stupid. What kind of damage that may result from this? I noticed some small cracks in the tires - I'm sure they were there long before. But oil does not seem to dry up and walking in the vicinity of the crack - it is worse for them.

I know a man who drove the recently introduced into the cracks and the tires on the rear wheel blew on the highway. He slowed to about 30 km / h, but then lost. His son was in the back and is now in intensive care.

A word to the wise: Replace the tires!

Place (not all weapons on Nere tires in contact with the road to a wide area)

Why is it important that the tires are shiny? Are you a runner or a show, eh? Put each kind of oil in the rubber is never a good idea, esp. in tires. Oil weakens the molecular structure of rubber compounds. I replaced the tires and call it a lesson learned, hurt by the loss of traffic and seriously or to kill ... and no product Tire Shine does not claim to damage the rubber, if you just shine ... I wash my bike twice a year if you really need it or not. K, O)
